Production Sportbikes have had a variety of stock suspension settings over the years. From the 90's until recently they were most often under-sprung and over-damped. Over the last few years the production setup has shifted to being very, very firm in both spring rates and damping. Combine the stock settings with race track seating position sport bikes can be brutal to ride on the street.  Without proper setup, your motorcycle can feel unbalanced, unpredictable, and uncomfortable. RT HI-PERFORMANCE FORK and SHOCK SPRINGS

 

The first step to great handling and predictability is selecting proper spring rates front and rear. FORK GOLD VALVE KITS

 

 

Good front end setup provides a firm yet plush feel that doesn't dive excessively. Race Tech's Gold Valve and Big Piston Fork (BPF) Fork Kits are designed to do just that. Gold Valves eliminate the limitations of the stock valving setup. Gold Valves improve flow to give outstanding performance, feel, feedback and tuneability. Gold Valve kits are an economical option for the rider in need of fork improvements without the cost of aftermarket cartridges. Perfect for the Street Rider, Track Day rider or Amateur Racer. 

Each Gold Valve Kit includes Gold Valves, Valving Charts and Shims to allow a custom setup for a specific rider and conditions. Stock Big Piston Fork (BPF) design has oversize, yet very restrictive pistons that are required to flow more than 10 times the fluid of a standard cartridge. This creates harshness and contributes to chatter during braking. Race Tech's BPF Gold Valves provide custom valving settings for the individual and improves handling, control, and ride dramatically. REBOUND SEPARATOR VALVE

 

 

Rebound Separator Valves replace the Shock Shaft Nut and with an asymmetric valve that flows through the Low-Speed Rebound Adjuster. This means Low-Speed Rebound Damping can be set for excellent traction while keeping the Compression nice and firm. This dramatically increases traction while giving better bottoming resistance.

SHOCK RESERVOIR CAPS

 

 

RT Reservoir Caps are anodized billet aluminum and comes with a recessed (protected) Schrader Valve or, as in the case of the YZ450, a sealed Nitrogen Needle port. Many of these caps provide more nitrogen volume and are easy to service.

Race Tech stocks replacement Fork Tubes by TNK. These tubes are OEM quality replacements. They are the highest quality and generally significantly less expensive than the original equipment. These tubes are made from the best materials and are available with color options. Race Tech is the exclusive USA Distributor for TNK.

NOTE: These are "tubes only". Upside-down forks require removing and replacing the stock Fork Bottom.

COATINGS

 

 

 

 

 

 

Race Tech has been testing and applying special coatings on suspension components for over 35 years. The coatings that we offer are Hard Anodizing and DLC 2.

Hard Anodizing makes the surface dramatically harder, more durable and more slippery. It is commonly used on aluminum fork sliders and shock bodies and is fairly inexpensive. More about Hard Anodizing

DLC 2 is a next generation Diamond Like Carbon coating that our research has found to be much more slippery and far superior to the current "best" coating. It is applied to the exterior of the chrome fork tube and is only microns thick. It provides and extremely hard and slippery finish.
